GAH! I hate dissection!

Apparently, the big science project this year is... DISSECTING A FROG. Heres what bothers me: You dont have to kill an animal to learn its anatomy, theres alternatives. Its cruel. Formaldehyde is dangerous. Its cruel.

Theres no way Im dissecting a poor animal that should be living in freedom. Id rather fail if they dont allow alternatives, though I think they do. Why would I want to be in a room that reeks of Formaldehyde and frogs are cut open on tables. Are we truly studying anatomy or insensitivity?

Swine flu got to Costa Rica and as soon as that happened, the country is insane. Four cases were reported and everyone is at MAXIMUM ALERT. Most pharmacies have been completely wiped out of anti-virals and antibiotics, by people who arent even infected. My school is especially, crazy, 4 kids have been sent home for having a cold, theres instructions in the bathroom of how to properly wash your hands. The trip to Mexico has been postponed (thats okay) and everyone is in panic. Come on, its swine flu, not contagious terminal cancer, yes many people have died but thats because they thought it was ordinary flu and didnt have time to treat it. Dont come around wearing masks to school and run away from people who sneeze. If you get it, no chances are you will not die. This much paranoia does not help. Im not saying this isnt important, of course they should have postponed the trip to Mexico, but its not to be so crazy. In science, a girl was scared and asked if everyone could go wash their hands, the teacher said yes and everyone went racing out. Out of the 21 people in my class, only 4 or 5 of us stayed, even one of the most reasonable kids in class waited patiently till some came back talking about death to go wash his hands himself. It was pretty disappointing. Yes, just wash your hands often, if the symptoms are present in you, go to a doctor as soon as possible and dont come in contact with infected people. But for the love of god, dont run around in circles with latex gloves, a mask on and screaming "Im too young to die!!!"

Homesick at Spacecamp?

Big chance I might go to spacecamp (probably the one in Houston) and I was wondering if any of you guysve been to spacecamp. Ive heard horror stories and amazing ones. One included everyone at camp puking about the greasy/green food. And lots of homesickness. Maybe Ill experience that FOB song literally (or is it already literal?) anyway, spacecamp stuff or epic plane rides? I was thinkin of Pete's motion sickness. Maybe Ill gulp down a bunch of mustard sandwiches. I just gotta get an 80% average overall this semester. Not so hard right? RIGHT?!

I finally know how it feels

Ive been practicing for months and it finally payed off. Yesterday I played guitar with all my new friends in the theater, I played my heart out. It felt amazing. Just doing what I like to do the most, surrounded by all those cool people who are there, feeling the same way as you. Then, when you are done, the applause feels victorious and fresh. It doesn't matter if you play an hour or 7 minutes, it still feels like you just climbed Mt. Everest. When you return backstage, your legs are rubbery and you just smile. You meet other performers backstage, and you feel equal to them. Its so surreal. We met some guys that are really known here, comedians on a tv show. And we went on stage with them to sing, they told us they needed our help, then I understood they weren't superhuman or anything. They were people who did what they loved. We hung out backstage with them and watched them improvise some choreographies. I met a bunch of new friends with my same interest. Music. Guitars. I finally know how it feels. Surreal. Amazing.

Im so damn pissed right now. My english teacher made up a test about having a conversation about bullsh*t. (sorry but I really am pissed) Her topics were like: Men in red shirts (?), dogs who bark all night, eating sandwich for lunch every day, girls in short skirts, I do believe in God, I dont believe in God, pigeons on my windowsill every morning and other things she believes affect our lives and judgement, as if being an atheist is wrong, Im one myself and she doesnt have the right to judge ANYONE by such reasons. She asked for a demonstration and this anti gay kid comes up. He says he doesnt like Obama because he supports gay marriage. Im so angry I almost punch his face in. He says its not normal and God made 2 sexes for a reason, and that its just weird to have gay people in this world. I think, what the hell is your problem dude. And he goes on saying they should have a place called Gayland where they can live with each other. The retard teacher tells us its a valid argument. (this gives us an idea of how dumb she is, gayland??) Then he goes on and says that you shouldnt have a gay friend because theyll chase you around and stuff. I almost kick him right in the crotch, I should have, really I should. Instead I shout at him that they are not socially retarded, they are human beings, and if you tell them, theyll respect your thoughts and feelings, just like you would. Moron teacher tells me it isnt a valid argument (wtf again) When I say theyll respect you, she shakes her head, I should take my sharpies and right in rainbow colors the words: GO DIE IN A HOLE AND BE FRIED BY THE SUN How come it isnt a valid argument talking about respect and feelings and talking bout a place called gayland is a valid argument???? You explain it to me, because if there is any reason or hint of smartness inside that womans head, I need it explained to me before I flip out and rip a hole in my mattress.

UGh, I got a sugar hangover

Friday: it was halloween, and I ate a bunch of candy and felt sick on Saturday, but this is just sick. I ate 12 chocolate balls, 2 kit kat bars and 1 twix bar, a king size snicker, 2 lollipops with gum inside, a box of Wonka nerds, two bags of Wonka Runts, and a huge box of Wonka gobbstoppers, and some gum and gumdrops. Im seriously gonna puke, kids dont ever EVER get a hangover. Not even on sugar. The effect of wayyyy toooo much sugar instead of hyping me up, it slowed me down like hell. Well, its an experience that made me learn. HA ye right Im sure itll happen the next yr and the next.
